Description of service(s) Residents of New Brunswick receive medical coverage regardless of age, state of health, or financial condition. You must present your card to the physician and/or hospital each time you need insured hospital or physician services.  
Please report any changes such as new address, birth, adoption, death, marriage, divorce, or legal separation. 
To report any changes or to inquire on Medicare services, you may call Service New Brunswick Tele Services, visit your local Service New Brunswick office or mail your written inquiry to Medicare directly. Contact your local office.

Eligibility ENGLISH: 
To be eligible for New Brunswick Medicare coverage you must be:  
•a Canadian citizen or be legally entitled to remain in Canada and a resident who makes his/her permanent and principle home in New Brunswick; or 
•an international student who meets the eligibility criteria. 
A “resident” means a person lawfully entitled to be or to remain in Canada, who makes his home and is ordinarily present in New Brunswick, but does not include a tourist, transient or visitor to the Province; as legislated under New Brunswick's Medical Services Payment Act  
The following individuals are not eligible for coverage:  
•regular members of the Canadian Armed Forces, (however members of their families are eligible);  
•tourists and visitors to the province;  
•students from another province; and  
•inmates of federal penitentiaries.  
Maintaining a dwelling, owning property in the province of New Brunswick or paying New Brunswick property or income tax does not mean you are eligible for insured services under New Brunswick Medicare.
Application Application for registration form is available from Service New Brunswick (SNB), SNB's web site at or through Medicare's web site. A separate form should be completed for any dependent who has reached a nineteenth birthday. 
To arrange for replacement cards, if your card is lost, stolen or damaged, call 1-888-762-8600, visit your local Service New Brunswick (SNB) office or send New Brunswick Medicare a cheque or money order made payable to the "Minister of Finance" in the amount of $10.00 for each replacement card. 
Exempt from the $10.00 replacement card fee are: seniors who receive the Guaranteed Income Supplement, income assistance recipients, and individuals who received damaged or misprinted cards.
