| Description of service(s) | Our mandate is to provide employment related services to people who have barriers to finding or maintaining a job due to their disabilities. Our employment counsellors will contract with you to design an action plan and provide you with the tools you need to break down barriers and build your future. Examples of the types of disabilities or barriers may include: a physical disability, deafness, hard of hearing, an emotional or mental health concern, low-vision, autism level 1, and learning disabilities. Employment Counselling Includes: career decision making, job-readiness skills, résumé preparation, interview techniques, job survival skills, job search coaching. Referrals to: academic upgrading, skills training, post-secondary education, other community services. Agency Activities: job development within the community, accessibility consultation, employer/public awareness, access to funding through government agencies for education/employment. |
