Description of service(s) | GENTLE PATH COUNSELLING SERVICES Ltd.: is a registered, established non-profit charitable organization with highly trained and experienced staff. We are committed to serving Saint John and the surrounding areas by providing a wide range of Counselling services, as well as, a variety of quality Educational Programs, Support Groups and Workshops. OUR MISSION: To provide people with learning opportunities to heal, grow and find personal and emotional support through professional counselling and group experiences AND to ensure, to the greatest extent possible, that the aforementioned services are provided to all those in need in the Greater Saint John area, regardless of ability to pay. COUNSELLING SERVICES: Gentle Path provides counselling to children,adults, couples, and family counselling on a variety of issues including: Abuse, Addictions, Children and Youth, Critical Incident/Stress Debriefing, Separation and/or Divorce, Panic and Anxiety, Post Traumatic Stress, Grief Counselling EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS: Gentle Path offers several programs that teach life skills, promote healing and personal growth. Some of the programs offered by Gentle Path Counselling are: Anger Management, Assertiveness, Children's Anger and Self-Esteem, Relationship Skills, Parenting, Step Parenting, Workplace Training and Grief. Learning to deal with family challenges, relationship issues, and appropriate expressions of feelings are the goals of these programs. OTHER: EAP Programs, International Adoption Registration is required for all programs, and there are some subsidies available for those experiencing financial hardship. Trained facilitators who identify with the issues of group members guide the sessions. Instruction includes lectures, videos, homework assignments, discussions, and readings. Participants are encouraged to attend all sessions to maximize the benefits of each program. YEAR ROUND - WEEKLY - SUPPORT GROUPS: Weekly Support Groups can further assist individuals on their journey to self-improvement and self-discovery. The Groups offer a non-judgmental, supportive environment and meet every week all year long (Co-dependency, Women's Self Esteem). No registration is required for the support groups, so anyone who is interested may attend any of the weekly sessions. Topics vary from week to week and a trained facilitator guides the sessions. All individuals are welcome to attend the support groups whether or not they are able to manage the applicable fee. |
