Description & Services
Description of service(s) NBACL works with and on behalf of children and adults with an intellectual disability and their families to build inclusive communities where people with an intellectual disability can live, learn, work, and participate fully in every aspect of community life as valued and contributing citizens. NBACL was established in 1957 and is a non-profit, charitable organization. 
 
We provide support in such areas as: 
Family support(individual support, advocacy, family networking) 
Employment 
Transition from school to life in the community 
Independent Facilitation 
Housing 
Provision of Resources 
Training for individuals, families and professionals 
 
NBACL uses the funds raised through the Community Collection Program to create and to continue programs which support children and adults with an intellectual disability and their families. Some of the programs NBACL offers are in the areas of: childcare, employment, justice, education, community inclusion, transition from school to work, recreation and leisure just to name a few.
