| Description of service(s) | Volunteer-led organization aiming to provide direct aid and comfort to Canadian veterans Services include assistance with: * accessing benefits the Veteran or family are entitled to and or may not be aware of * short term emergency housing * maintaining or accessing safe housing (security deposit, first month rent, power being cut off, assisting a transition to a suitable retirement home as appropriate etc.) * grocery cards * basic needs for an apartment * securing suitable employment * peer support Guitars for VETS Canada (GFV Canada): clients are given a donated, gently used guitar or provided with a rental guitar * volunteer guitar instructors provide ten lessons (based on availability); lessons are also available online Call 1-888-228-3871 and select services in New Brunswick to be given local assistance. |
